My next step after graduating from my recen high school is to get myself into the college, and of course, getting into the college needs a lot of preparations. So, I have to start the preparation by now, also this portfolio website is included to my preparation program. We are recommended to start our preparation earlier, like when we're running our secondary high school, so we will be more ready and trained to face the thing that will be happening in the future.
My plan is going to have my college abroad.
And why do I pick my college in the other country? Isn't there so much national universities in the country that you're living in?
Well, I have listed the reasons why I pick the other country to have my study in.
My recent school is working as a developing school, which is trying out the new curriculum the goverment has given. And then my school is also trying to link relations with other countries, recently there are two countries my school has been linking with, Malaysia and Turkey.
I have been living in Indonesia for almost 17 years, and actually I have never stepped my foot on other countries. So, the college age would be my opportunity to visit other countries, and probably to be living in there. I want to try the new experience and living which possibly different than the country I'm recently living in, Indonesia, so that would give me more knowledge and skill.
Both of my parents, also my grandparents graduated from Indonesian colleges. They had great experiences of having their college years there, and they shared their experiences to me. For example my dad graduated from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and he shared some information about the campus life and of course, the architecture program in there.
My highschool has a program which focuses on studying abroad. The countries that my school incorporates with are Malaysia and Turkey. We had learnt about Turkish culture on the internet, and we got interested on Turkey as our focus on studying abroad.
We got Australia in our list from my best friend's family who lived in Australia when his dad had a college and to work in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. They also shared the Australian culture, life, education, and more, and I got interested on that. They recomended us to search for some information about some universities in Australia, including Monash University.
We also visited an edcation exhibition that ran in our town (and we accidentaly met the entire family of my best friend who lived in Australia), which includes Australia, U.K., U.S.A., New Zealand, and more as the host. We searched for more information about Monash University in that exhibition.
After we visited the international education exhibition, we had a contact with a host. Then we had an invitation to a video converence discussing about an university in Northen Ireland, United Kingdom, in specific the University of Belfast.
My dad who helps me on education searched for information about an university in Singapore, which serves scholarships. We added Singapore on our list too.
Continuing from my highschool's program which focuses on getting their students studying abroad, they also run a sub-program called UniVisit, which guides a part of students on having a tour in Malaysia, including the universities. I joined that program to survey the universities available on the program's list (another reason is to have a short vacation).
